Memorial Girls Golf Starts Season with a Championship Win at Corydon Central Preview The Memorial Girls Golf team teed off their 2025 season in dominant fashion on Tuesday, August 5, claiming first place at the Corydon Central Season Preview Tournament held at Old Capitol Golf Course in Corydon, Indiana. Leading the charge was senior Abby Shires, who turned in a stellar performance, shooting a 74 to earn medalist honors as the tournament’s top individual scorer. Her consistent play helped pave the way for the Tigers’ strong team showing. Maggie Rhymer finished 5th overall with a 89. Memorial finished with a combined team score of 360, edging out Bar Reeve, who finished second with a 366. Rounding out the victorious lineup were Reese Stahl, Maggie Rhymer, Charlotte Hungate, and Ellie Eden—each contributing to the team’s well-earned win. It was a strong statement to open the season, and the team will look to carry that momentum into their next match on Thursday, August 7, when they take on Mt. Vernon at Western Hills Country Club.
